To support the Ukrainian film community, EFAD proposed the exclusive screening in Brussels of the Ukrainian feature film Klondike directed by Maryna Er Gorbach, on Tuesday 19 April at Cinema Galeries. The event was the opportunity to contribute to shed light on Ukrainian cinematography and discuss how to support the film community in Ukraine.

Tamara Tatishvili from EWA introduced the screening, which was followed by a Q&A with the director, Maryna Er Gorbach, and the producer, Mehmet Bahadir Er.

The screening was organised in collaboration with CEDO, CICAE - Art Cinema, Cineuropa, Europa Distribution, Europa International, European Film Academy, EPC, European Women's Audiovisual Network - EWA, FERA - Federation of European Screen Directors, Society of Audiovisual Authors, UNIC - International Union of Cinemas.

About the film

Klondike tells the story of a Ukrainian family living on the border of Russia and Ukraine during the start of the war. Irka refuses to leave her house even as the village gets captured by armed forces. Shortly after they find themselves at the center of an international air crash catastrophe on July 17, 2014.
